Nā Kiaʻi (The Guardians)

This mural was created to honor some of the kiaʻi (guardians) of the Koʻolaupoko area. These kiaʻi are Hauwahine, a reptilian deity that resides in Kawainui, and Meheanu, who often takes the form of an eel and lives near Heʻeia fishpond.
